The Tip-Off: A Sports Marketing and Event Management Project Guide

Regular price $ 99.00 Sale

The Tip-Off was developed to provide an "all-in-one" resource for teachers looking for a fall project that covers nearly every aspect of marketing and event management.

The content and guidance were developed from several years of implementing versions of The Tip-Off. Although there is not a "right" way to do a Tip-Off, I hope this resource helps you maximize the experience for your students and minimize the misery!

The key is to take whatever you can from this book and use it. Throw some ideas away. Modify others. Use some suggestions to get your creative juices flowing and come up with your own ideas. Do whatever it takes to make it work.

Like all of our Project WebBooks, this resource is in the form of a lifetime site license for a website. You and an unlimited number of students will have access to the content which includes a collection of assignments and activities that are intended to be used in the actual planning and implementation of your own Tip-Off.

However, if you prefer a "simulation"  as opposed to actually implementing the plans, that approach will work as well.

Students will:

  • Learn to write a sponsorship proposal
  • Connect with members of the business community
  • Develop plans for an event
  • Agree upon pricing strategies for sponsorships, advertising, and tickets
  • Develop entertaining events
  • Learn how to effectively negotiate
  • Utilize advertising and promotional skills
  • Demonstrate professional selling skills
  • Manage an event
